BENSON -- Ethelwyn "Wyn" J. Mattheisen, 83, of Benson, died Wednesday at Golden Living Meadow Lane Nursing Home in Benson.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the church with a parish prayer service at 4:30 p.m., a rosary at 6 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.
She was born Aug. 1, 1925, in Spicer to Enoch and Bertha (Sande) Erickson. She grew up in the Terrace area and graduated from Murdock High School.
She married Marcellus Mattheisen in South Dakota. They lived on Lake Linka where they ran a resort and then moved to Minneapolis where she worked at Precision Associates. They retired to Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1987 and she returned to Murdock in 1998. She was a member of the VFW auxiliary, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Council of Catholic Women and the Terrace Mill Foundation.
She is survived by her daughter: Mary Katherine Carlson (and Kathie Heath) of Princeton; one granddaughter; siblings: Ray (and Maxine) Iverson of Glenwood, Richard (and Amy) Iverson of Glenwood, Ronald (and Elsie) Iverson of St. Francis, Alphie Cain of Minneapolis, Pam (and John) Kelly of DeGraff and Bonnie Fread of Melrose.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather: Ben Iverson; her husband in 1998; two brothers; and one sister.
