Eugene A. Hammack May 15, 1923 - Nov. 6, 2008
WILLMAR -- Eugene Albert Hammack, 85, of Willmar, formerly of Spicer, died Thursday at the Willmar Commons Care Center.
The service will be at a later date in St. Louis, Mo. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
He was born May 15, 1923, in St. Louis, Mo., to Edward and Lillie Belle (Stotler) Hammack. He grew up and attended school in the St. Louis area.
He married Hazel Jakubiak and they lived in the St. Louis area. He worked for Sears as a manager for 30 years. Hazel died in 1987. He wintered in Alamo, Texas.
He married Elizabeth (Davis) Midby on April 16, 1993. They summered in the Willmar area and wintered in Alamo, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of Willmar; one son: David Hammack of Camdenton, Mo.; stepchildren: Charles Midby of Spicer, Alan (and Yolanda) Midby of Spicer and Terry (and Linda) Midby of Carmichael, Calif., and Shirley (and Arlo) King of Cypress, Calif.; two grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and one sister: Betty Bequette of California.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and seven siblings.
