Evansville man dies in machinery accident in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, Minn. -- A 50-year-old Evansville man died in work-related machinery accident at the Pope Douglas Solid Waste Management facility Thursday night.

Alexandria police officers responded to the scene at 2115 Jefferson Street in Alexandria about 9 p.m. The initial report was that a man had fallen from a ladder.

Upon arriving, officers learned that an employee, Tim Allen Anderson, had been caught in a piece of machinery and was unconscious.

Officers and North Memorial Ambulance paramedics administered first aid but Anderson died at the scene.

The incident is still under investigation, according to Alexandria Police Chief Richard Wyffels.
