MONTEVIDEO -- Evelyn Viola Gilsrud, 99, of Montevideo died Friday at her home in Copper Glen.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Watson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

She was born Aug. 24, 1909, in Montevideo to Carl and Andria (Ingvalson) Pearson. She graduated from Montevideo High School in 1927.

She married Clarence Gilsrud on Sept, 5, 1928. They farmed for many years in Tunsberg Township, Chippewa County, until moving into Montevideo in 1985. She was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and active in Immanuel's WELCA.

She is survived by two sons: Gary (and Pat) of Harvard, Ill., and Gordon (and Kathy) of Lake City; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother: Charles Pearson of Montevideo.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993, a great-grandson, three sisters and three brothers.
