LITCHFIELD -- Evelyn B. Mickelson, 87, of Litchfield, died Saturday at the Emmanuel Home in Litchfield.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City. Burial will be in Lake Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
She was born Nov. 21, 1921, in Irvin, Iowa, to Peter and Georgina (Pederson) Ask. Her family moved to the Lake Lillian area and lived for a few years before moving to Acton Township, Meeker County. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1940. During high school she worked at area cafés.
She married Meral Mickelson on June 7, 1941, in Litchfield. They farmed in the Grove City area. She owned the Corner Café and worked as a caterer and cook at the Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by her sons: Robert (and Darlene) Mickelson of Litchfield, Donald (and Linda) Mickelson of Grove City, Steven Mickelson of Grove City and John (and Nina) Mickelson of Casa Grande, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband in 1992; son: Daniel; four brothers and four sisters.
