Evelyn Tollefson Sept. 23, 1907 - Jan. 10, 2009

BENSON -- Evelyn Emma Tollefson, 101, of Redwood Falls, formerly of Benson, died Saturday at Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.

She was born Sept. 23, 1907, in Minneapolis to George and Bertha (Strunning) Pedlar. She grew up in Berington, N.D., and Montevideo where she attended school through the eighth grade.

She married Raymond Tollefson on July 10, 1927, in Benson. She worked as a cook for Meadow Lane Health Care Center for 25 years.

She is survived by her children: Richard (and special friend Bernice Clark) Tollefson of Circle Pines, Carol (and Jerry) Johannessen of Benson, Douglas (and Judy) Tollefson of New London, June (and Lawrence) Muetzel of Redwood Falls, Vonnie Comp of Crystal, and Gale (and Pat) Tollefson of Columbia Heights; 36 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995; son: Glen Tollefson; daughter-in-law: Rose Tollefson; and son-in-law: Dex Comp.
