The event will include a short program about the court system. Supreme Court justices, the Eighth Judicial District judges and local officials will be on hand to visit with attendees, according to a news release from Eight District Chief Judge Donald M. Spilseth.

The doors open at 6 p.m., with a roast turkey dinner served at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are $15 and can be ordered through the Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce by calling 235-0300.

The Supreme Court will also hear oral arguments of a real case Oct. 10 at Willmar Senior High. Students will have the opportunity to witness the court at work and to interact with the justices in assemblies and classes throughout the day.

Supreme Court justices visit locations around the state each year to hear from citizens and to foster understanding of the judicial branch of state government. Spilseth notes that this visit will be the 15th anniversary of the court's first visit to Willmar.
