HECTOR -- Everett Emil Leff, 93, of Hector, died Thursday at the Golden Living Center in Olivia.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector. Burial will be in the Hector City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
He was born Jan. 23, 1915, in Phelps County, Nebraska, to Emil and Selma (Ericson) Leff. He grew up in Sibley County, Minnesota, where he attended country school and graduated from Winthrop High School.
He married Cordula Lehrke on April 20, 1938, in Sibley County. They lived and farmed near Winthrop, Gibbon, and Hector. He served on the ASC Board, the Hector Creamery Board, and belonged to the Renville County Farmer's Union. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and served on the church board. He was active with the Gideons and belonged to the Hector Sportsman's Club.
He is survived by his wife; children: Gerald (and Jeanne) Leff of Menomonie, Wis., E. Grant (and Karen) Leff of Morgan Hill, Calif., Gary (and Mary Lynn) Leff of Buffalo, Gwen (and Dale) Degner of Hector; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and sister: Mary (and Harold) Gee of Ft. Ripley and Tucson, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law: Eunice Leff.
