Fagen Engineering makes staff cuts

GRANITE FALLS -- The economic slow down is responsible for a work force reduction at Fagen Engineering, LLC.

Ron Fagen, president and founder, met individually with staff Friday in the engineering and drafting departments at the company's offices in Granite Falls.

Fagen LLC declined to state how many positions were reduced, but issued said in a statement the reductions were due to lack of engineering work, resulting from the current economic downturn.

The company offers a full range of civil, structural, mechanical and electrical/instrumentation design services, and is known nationally for designing ethanol, power plant and industrial facilities.

Fagen has offices in Granite Falls and Greenville, S.C., according to the company Web site.
