Fagen Inc. is partner in wind project planned in S.D.
BISMARCK, N.D. — Basin Electric signed a power purchase agreement on Dec. 20 associated with the development of a new wind project to be developed in South Dakota, the Bismarck, N.D.-based electric transmission and generation cooperative announced on Monday.
The project is co-owned by Fagen Inc. of Granite Falls, and the principals of Dakota Plains Energy, a wind farm developer based in Aberdeen, S.D. The project is planned to be operational by the end of 2015, Basin Electric said in a news release.
“The Campbell County Wind Farm is proud to have been selected to provide 98 megawatts of clean, affordable energy to nearly 30,000 homes in the Upper Midwest,” said Rob Johnson, president and principal of Dakota Plains Energy.
The project helps Basin Electric expand its renewable generation portfolio to include more than 1,100 megawatts.
Fagen Inc., established in 1988, has grown to be recognized as one of the largest green energy design-builders.
