Fagerlie files for re-election to Willmar City Council from Ward 3
WILLMAR — Rick Fagerlie filed his affidavit of candidacy Wednesday at the City Offices for another four-year term from Ward 3 on the Willmar City Council. Fagerlie has served on the council for the past 22 years.
Fagerlie said he enjoys most of what he does serving on the council.
“There are some good people there. I like working with most of them. It should be interesting this fall to see who gets elected mayor,’’ he said. “We’ll get the ship turned around again. We’ll be on smooth water here pretty soon.’’
Fagerlie said his priority is to get more businesses into the industrial park.
“We started with Jennie-O,’’ he said. “We’ll see what happens now. I think there’ll be some good companies wanting to come here.’’
Fagerlie was first elected from Ward 4 in 1992 and was re-elected in 1996. He moved to Ward 3, was elected from Ward 3 in 1998, and was re-elected in 2002, 2006 and 2010. He is chair of the Community Development Committee and serves on the Finance Committee.
