FDA is right on trans fat decision

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Thursday it plans to bar nearly all trans fats from the American food supply.

Trans fats, also known as partially hydrogenated oils, are an additive, often used in vegetable oil to make it more solid at room temperature

The additive has long been associated with heart disease. The additive’s ability to make oil solid also does the same in the coronary arteries.
