Kluver is a BNSF Railway employee.

Kluver was pinned under a grain car which weighed 221,000 pounds, more than 110 tons. It took about two hours to free him.

Kluver suffered severe injuries to his legs, according to Willmar Ambulance Service Operations Manager Brad Hanson.

Local businesses worked with emergency responders to raise the car off Kluver. Willmar Ambulance personnel and a medical team from Rice Memorial Hospital cared for him at the scene.

Rescue crews called in workers from Marcus Building Movers of Raymond and Thein Moving Co. of Clara City who used wood blocks, jacks and a portable hydraulic unit to raise the car off of Kluver.

He was airlifted directly from the scene to St. Cloud Hospital.

According to a Willmar Police Department release, there is no foul play suspected. The railroad investigation into the incident is ongoing.
