Federal Reserve economist to speak in Willmar Friday
WILLMAR -- Toby Madden, a regional economist at the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis, will speak Friday in Willmar.
Madden will speak at the Willmar Area Development Corporation eighth annual meeting at noon at the Oaks at Eagle Creek.
His presentation will include an economic outlook for west central Minnesota as well as the state and the Midwest. He will outline his view of the coming year and how current world events play into the economic recovery. He will also leave time for a question/answer period from audience members.
Madden is a regional economist in the public affairs department at the Federal Reserve Bank. He writes articles for bank publications and frequently speaks on the area's economy. In addition, he is involved with the bank's economic education program. Madden joined the Minneapolis Fed in 1995 as a management analyst in the automated clearing house a-rea.
The Wil-lmar Area Development Corporation is a private sector organization dedicated to the economic development process. Its key roles include calling on prospective and new employers, partnering with city and county resources and serving as a network resource for employers and entrepreneurs.
The meeting will also include the organization's annual report. It is scheduled to end by 1:30 p.m. The cost of the buffet lunch is $10.
