Fergus Falls man accused of assault, firing gun into ground

A Fergus Falls, Minn., man is accused of threatening another man with a loaded gun, according to WDAY-TV.

Richard Stavaas, 69, faces charges of second degree assault and reckless discharge of a firearm, the station reports.

The incident happened Saturday night at 1005 N. Buse St., according to WDAY, and at least eight squad cars from three agencies were on scene.

Officers searched the property. They say Stavaas pointed a handgun at a 32-year-old and fired rounds into the ground in front of him, WDAY reported. No one was injured.
