Fernelius, Toivonen win Water Days

NEW LONDON -- Ex-New London-Spicer tennis standout Drew Fernelius of Minneapolis returned to his home courts on Saturday to win the Water Days Men's Open Singles championship.

Fernelius won in a tiebreaker over Jon Sosnowski 4-6, 6-1 (10-4).

In the Women's Open, Marisa Toivonen of Red Wing outhit Angie Wiegmann of Spicer 6-4, 6-3 in the final.
