KMS topped Springfield 41-7 in the Class A state football semifinal game Saturday at the Metrodome. They will play Royalton at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28 in the championship game.
KMS won the coin toss, elected to receive and Joel Bauman scored on a one yard run at 7:47 capping off a 10-play, 71 yard drive. Andres Rojas kicked the extra point from the 8 yard line following a penalty on KMS.
Ryan Beyer caught a 73 pas for a Springfield touchdown at 5:12. The kick was good, tying the score 7-7.
Kevin Steinhaus had a 2 yard touchdown run to start the quarter at 11:16. Rojas' kick was good making it 14-7 KMS.
Taylor Freetly caught a 49 yard pass from Steinhaus for a touchdown at 1:39. Rojas' kick was good.
Bauman scored on a 10 yard run at :56 left in the quarter. Rojas' kick failed and the score was 27-7 to end the quarter.
Freetly caught a 34 touchdown pass from Steinhaus with 8:58 in the fourth quarter. Rojas' kick was good for a 34-7 lead.
Hagen returned an interception 67 yards for a touchdown at 8:08. Rojas' kick was good. The final score was 41-7.
