Find great recipes at the Taste of Home Cooking School
The search for great-tasting recipes is a continual quest for anyone who loves to cook. Whenever conversations turn to food, someone is sure to proclaim that their recipe is the best.
Culinary Specialist, Mary Janice Reisdorf, from the Taste of Home Cooking School will be sharing 10 fresh recipes for spring at the Willmar Education and Arts Center on March 10.
The exhibit hall will be open from 4 to 6:30 p.m. and the demonstration will start at 6:30 p.m.
Reisdorg agrees that many of her favorite recipes came from friends as they sat casually chatting about their culinary endeavors.
"My recipe box doubles as a collection of best-loved recipes and a history of past get-togethers. I have recipes written on napkins, envelopes, wrapping paper and snippets of scrap paper I hastily dug out of my handbag. If you love to cook like me, I'm sure you have a recipe box that tells a story of good times with friends and family, too," shares Reisdorf.
"I'm hoping Taste of Home will become part of your circle of friends for tasty recipes. Our recipes come from home cooks just like you who share in the joy of cooking," continues Reisdorf.
Taste of Home magazine is the largest food magazine in the world, fueling the culinary passion of more than 3 million subscribers. Cooks from across the country submit their recipe box specials to be highlighted in featured articles such as "Just Dessert," "Mom's Best Meal" and "Snacks & Appetizers."
Taste of Home Cooking School visits communities across the country and presents a sampling of these family-favorite recipes.
The demonstration lineup of recipes for March 10 will include dishes from national sponsors including Crisco Olive Oil, Domino Sugar/C&H Sugar, Gallo Family Vineyards, McCormick, Mushroom Council, Ziploc Containers and Zip 'n Steam Bags.
There's no need to worry about searching for that scrap of paper to write down the recipes. Each attendee will receive a gift bag that contains the Taste of Home Cooking School Brand Name Cookbook along with literature from sponsors, coupons and product samples.
Taste of Home Cooking School's "Spring Sensations" presentation is being hosted by the West Central Tribune and sponsored by Cash Wise Foods, Sears, Hennen's Furniture, Premium Waters Inc. and Arbonne-Dorothy Quimby.
There will be a variety of exhibits to visit before the demonstration. Door prizes will be given to lucky winners throughout the show and there will be several grand prize drawings at the end of the show.
Tickets are $10 in advance and are available at the West Central Tribune, 2208 Trott Ave.; Cash Wise Foods, 1300 Fifth Street S.E.; and Cornerstone Coffee in the Skylark Center, all in Willmar.
