A search was under way for a family with an Austin, Texas, address who reported their 2004 Ford pickup had gone into a ditch at 5:18 a.m. Sunday, but they did not know where they were. After a lengthy discussion, the caller was able to provide GPS coordinates and officers were able to locate the vehicle near the intersection of Kandi-yohi County Road 5 and 225th Avenue. Officers gave them a courtesy ride to a Willmar location and a tow truck was called.

In another incident, a driver from Willmar called to report that she was stuck in a ditch. The 911 call showed a location near County Road 9 and State Highway 23. A search for over an hour failed to find the vehicle or driver, but it turned out a snowplow driver came upon the scene and assisted her.

The mishap actually happened one mile east of County Road 5 on 105th Avenue Southeast at the southern edge of the Lake Florida slough. The driver was reported to be OK.
