First group from Augustana College band arrives back in U.S. from Egypt

Many of the Augustana College band members who got caught in the political turmoil in Egypt are back in South Dakota.

Forty-six members of the group landed in Sioux Falls on Monday night, after a trip that took them out of Egypt, to Amsterdam, then back home through Minneapolis. The rest of the 90-member group was returning Tuesday afternoon.

Junior Elizabeth Bonnema tells the Argus Leader she's relieved to be back in South Dakota. She says seeing Egypt was a great experience, though the uncertainty of getting a flight out of the troubled country was nerve-wracking. But she says everything turned out OK.

Augustana President Rob Oliver was at the airport to greet the travelers.
