Flood preparation meeting with gov. set in Montevideo
MONTEVIDEO -- Gov. Mark Dayton will host a flood preparedness meeting at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the American Legion, 613 Legion Drive, Montevideo.
The meeting, which is open to the public, is one of multiple the governor is hosting across the state regarding flooding.
According to a news release from Dayton's office, the governor will be joined by U.S. Rep. Collin Peterson, Adjutant General Rick Nash of the Minnesota National Guard, Commerce Commissioner Mike Rothman, Department of Public Safety Commissioner Mona Dohman and Kris Eide, executive director of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
Officials from the cities and counties along the Upper Minnesota River and its tributaries are also scheduled to attend.
