Flood-proofing project begins at Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls, Minn.
GRANITE FALLS -- Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Granite Falls will continue to provide professional service while a renovation and flood-proofing project takes place at its funeral home in Granite Falls.
Construction on the long-awaited project got under way Monday. It is expected to continue through the end of the year.
According to information from the funeral home, the renovation and flood-proofing will include the relocation of the casket selection room, the preparation room and certain mechanical and electrical applications to the main floor. The restrooms will also be relocated.
All funeral home services to clientele will continue as usual. Visitations may have to be held at the family church until the funeral home chapel is completed. The Wing-Bain Funeral Home, (formerly Hamre), has served Granite Falls and the surrounding communities since 1896.
This renovation and flood-proofing project is made possible largely by funds from recent flood mitigation awards to the city of Granite Falls.
