Flood warning issued for counties along Minnesota River

CHANHASSEN -- The National Weather Service in Chanhassen has issued a flood warning that includes counties along the Minnesota River.

The warning was issued at 10 a.m. today and includes Chippewa, Lac qui Parle, Renville and Yellow Medicine counties. The weather service has received reports of ½ to 1 inch of rain in the past 18 hours and forecasts between ½ and ¾ of an inch more will fall as rain continues.

The weather service urges citizens to stay tuned to NOAA weather radio, the agency's Web page at www.crh.noaa.gov/mps or their local news sources.
