Florence A. Erickson May 5, 1909 - June 28, 2009
WILLMAR -- Florence A. Erickson, 100, of Willmar died Sunday at Bethesda Pleasant View Home in Willmar.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Eagle Lake Lutheran Church in rural Willmar. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church for one hour before the service. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home of Willmar.
She was born May 5, 1909, in Green Lake Township, Kandiyohi County, to Ole O. and Mary (Arneson) Erickson. She graduated from Willmar High School and later took teacher's training in Willmar. She taught in Raymond and in the Green Lake area. In 1934, she moved to Los Angeles where she worked as a housekeeper and companion for Tyrone Powers' mother and others while in California. In 1958, she returned to Willmar to care for her mother. She also worked at Bethesda Heritage for 14 years before retiring.
She was a charter member of Willmar Senior Citizens and was the 2003-04 Senior Citizens Queen. She was a member of Eagle Lake Lutheran Church, serving with the mission society and in other areas. She also was a communion server at Bethesda Heritage Center for many years.
She is survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by one sister; three brothers; and special friend: Al Pierson.
