Florence Prindle Oct. 1, 1922 - Aug. 14, 2009
MONTEVIDEO -- Florence Prindle, 86, of Montevideo, died Friday at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Montevideo.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Montevideo and for one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
She was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Minneapolis to Joel Frederick and Lucille Harrison Jackson. She graduated from Minneapolis West High School in 1940 and attended the University of Minnesota.
She married William Day Prindle Jr. on April 25, 1942. Following World War II, they moved to Olivia and two years later they moved to Montevideo. They retired to Deuel County, S.D., in 1986 where they formed Deuel Enterprises Inc., a family Bible publishing company.
She was active in Alpha Chi Omega, Eastern Star PEO, Girl Scouts, AFS and American Red Cross and served on the board of directors of First National Bank in Montevideo. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Montevideo where she served on the Mission Committee, acted as church treasurer, taught Sunday School and was communion steward for 25 years.
She is survived by her children: Barbara Graff of Sioux Falls, S.D., Mary (and Joel) Lynne of Glenwood, William (and Kathleen) Prindle of Eau Claire, Wis., and Carrie (and Paul) Gervais of Montevideo; and seven grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband in January 2006; daughter: Florence Prindle Ronning in November 2004; and one brother.
