The National Weather Service Twin Cities office in Chanhassen says the storm will bring several rounds of precipitation, and snowfall accumulations of 6 to 12 inches are possible in west central Minnesota by Thursday.

Sleet and freezing rain will mix this morning, transitioning to snow by the afternoon. Final snowfall amounts across the state will depend on how quickly the precipitation changes to snow.

A winter storm warning is in effect through 1 p.m. Thursday from southwest Minnesota across central Minnesota, including Willmar and the area cities of Benson, Montevideo, Olivia and Litchfield.
