Football: Broncos fall on road

BURNSVILLE — The West Central Broncos rolled up 326 total yards — 168 on the ground — but lost 23-9 to the Twin Cities Rhinos on Saturday in the Broncos’ fourth-straight road game at the Burnsville High School field.

The Broncos scored their lone touchdown on a 32-yard pass from Steve Peppin to Joel Bauman.

Bauman carried 12 times for 151 yards and Peppin hit 10 of 15 throws for 158 yards.

Rene Vallejo made 10 solo stops and recorded one of the Broncos’ four sacks.

The Broncos have a bye this week before playing their home opener on June 1 against the Twin Cities Titans at 6 p.m. at Hodapp Field in Willmar.
