The Owls (1-4, 1-5) picked up their first win of the season in high winds and heavy snow in Ivanhoe.

After a scoreless first half, Hancock's Jason Schaefer scored on a six-yard run in the third quarter. Drew Schmidgall had a 13-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring.

Schmidgall, in his first start of the season at quarterback, completed 6-of-16 passes for 109 yards and no interceptions. Brendon Foss and Jake Ascheman had three receptions each.

The Owls' defense was led by Schaefer with three sacks and Schmidgall with two. Ascheman and Cory Schroeder were in on 11 tackles apiece.

Trailing 21-0 in the fourth quarter, Buffalo Lake-Hector made a late rally, scoring three times. But the Mustangs fell just short, unable to convert any two-point attempts.

Zach Wieweck ran for 120 yards in 31 carries, including a six-yard touchdown. Wieweck also caught and 18-yard touchdown pass from Austin Ludowese. Evan Ludo-wese had a 72-yard touchdown reception from Austin Ludowese to complete the scoring.

Austin Ludowese completed 8-of-17 passes for 168 yards and had no interceptions. Wieweck made three catches for 67 yards,
