Former Mankato TV anchor sentence on DWI charge

NORTH MANKATO, Minn. - A former Mankato television news anchor who was arrested for drunken driving weeks after her on-air broadcast raised questions about her sobriety has been sentenced to probation.

Annie Stensrud's brief broadcast Dec. 4 was posted on YouTube and picked up hundreds of thousands of hits after viewers speculated she may have been intoxicated.

Stensrud was pulled over in North Mankato several weeks later and arrested. KEYC-TV says ( http://bit.ly/MFqnYl) Stensrud pleaded guilty to third-degree driving while intoxicated in Nicollet County Court. A judge stayed a 1-year jail term, provided Stensrud follow terms of her probation. She was also ordered to pay $1,015 in fines and fees.

KEYC-TV says Stensrud is no longer employed at the station.
