Four file to run for Kubly's vacant Minnesota Senate seat, Gimse plans to run for Senate 17 seat

WILLMAR -- Four candidates have filed to run in a special election to fill the seat vacated by Sen. Gary Kubly.

Kubly, a DFL senator from Granite Falls, died March 2.

Filing for the current Senate District 20 office closed Tuesday night.

The election is scheduled April 10.

The candidates include Rep. Lyle Koenen, DFL-Clara City, John Schultz, DFL-Correll, Leon Greenslit, an independent from Olivia, and Gregg Kulberg, R-Hector.
