SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Frank Luverne Schneider, 78, of Sioux Falls, died Thursday in Sioux Falls.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls.
Visitation begins at 2 p.m. today, with the family present from 4 to 6 p.m., at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Ave., Sioux Falls.
He was born July 6, 1931, on the family farm outside of Renville to Frank and Gina Schneider. He attended school in Renville and the University of Minnesota.
Frank and Glorian were married on Oct. 10, 1952. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1952 and served as a staff sergeant. After his discharge, he achieved his bachelor's degree in animal husbandry at the University of Minnesota and went to work for Swift and Company as a livestock buyer. While working for Swift and Co., he and his family lived in Chicago, Omaha and St. Louis. In 1967, he moved his family to Sioux Falls and was employed as a livestock order buyer by R Q Line and Company. Frank and his partner, Viola Peterson, purchased and operated the company until he retired.
He is survived by his wife; children: Connie Wentworth, Greg Schneider (and wife Wendy Greenwald), Paul (and Mary) Schneider, Brad (and Niloo) Schneider, Ingrid Schneider-Sougstad (and husband Dan Sougstad); nine grandchildren; a sister: Erma Revier of Olivia; and a brother: Doug Schneider.
