Franken to tour Red River area, may stop in Montevideo, Granite Falls
MONTEVIDEO -- Sen. Al Franken may tour Montevideo and Granite Falls today following a visit to flooded areas of the Red River Valley.
The senator will be visiting Oslo, East Grand Forks, Moorhead and Breckenridge to learn about flood preparation efforts and to better understand how to safeguard the Red River Valley from future flooding, according to information from his office.
His itinerary also lists possible stops at 4:45 p.m. today at the Trailways Café in Montevideo and at 5:30 p.m. at the Granite Falls City Hall. Montevideo Mayor Jim Curtiss and Granite Falls Mayor Dave Smiglewski will show Franken flood mitigation projects in their communities.
