Monday morning commuters are especially warned to stay informed of the latest weather information. Ice accumulations through Monday morning are expected to be light over southwest and west central Minnesota, but untreated roadways, bridges and overpasses may become icy once the precipitation begins, the Weather Service says.

Most of the northern two-thirds of Minnesota is in a freezing rain advisory as a storm system develops across the Plains and moves northward over the upper Midwest.

Light freezing rain will continue Monday morning over central Minnesota before the precipitation changes to all rain by the afternoon.
