Fundraiser features Jordan Smith

Jordan Smith, the Cleveland Indians’ outstanding young prospect from Willmar, will be the featured guest at a morning fundraiser Jan. 19 at Willmar Community Center on North Highway 71/23. Proceeds from the Dad's Belgian Waffles breakfast from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. will benefit the Willmar Baseball/Softball Boosters Association, sponsors of the event.
Advance tickets are available at Cullen’s Home Center, Walt’s station store and Floor to Ceiling.
Smith, a 22-year-old outfielder, made the Indians’ All-Minor League team following his second year in the organization. The former Willmar Cardinal played two seasons at St. Cloud State and one summer with the Willmar Stingers before signing with Cleveland in June, 2011.
Advance tickets are $8 adults and $5 children 6-12 (a dollar more at door.) There will be door prizes and autographed baseball cards.
