Funeral for ACGC senior is Tuesday at school; Dawson-Boyd senior to be laid to rest today
GROVE CITY –– The funeral service for high school senior Zach Junkermeier will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City school gym in Grove City.
Junkermeier, 18, of Lake Lillian, was killed this week while snowmobiling near Cooke City, Mont.
Junkermeier had been on the ACGC football and track teams and was scheduled to go on a trip to Puerto Rico with the school Spanish club this spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the ACGC track team for clothing and equipment.
Visitation for Junkermeier will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service at the school gymnasium on Tuesday.
Following the service Tuesday at the high school, interment will be in the Tromso Cemetery near Lake Lillian.
Arrangements are with the Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home in Atwater.
Meanwhile, the funeral service for Michael Anyasike, an 18-year-old senior and athlete at the Dawson-Boyd School District, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson.
Anyasike died Sunday after fleeing from a party Saturday night when police arrived. He was found outside about 12 hours later, approximately four miles from the rural residence where the party was held.
The Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson is in charge of arrangements for Anyasike.
