Funeral for Kruize is Monday
ST. CLOUD -- The funeral for Sgt. Kurt Kruize, 35, the St. Cloud Army reservist who died April 4 in Baghdad, Iraq, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud. A military airplane is expected to arrive with Kruize's body in St. Cloud today.
Burial with full military honors will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the church in St. Cloud.
Kruize, a 1993 graduate of Hancock High School, died in what his family was told was a "freak accident'' in which he was crushed between a tractor and a trailer.
In addition to his service in the military, Kruize worked as a forklift operator for Viking Coca-Cola. He lived in St. Cloud with his wife, Billie Jo, and four children. He also is survived by his parents, Lyle and Beverly Kruize of Hancock.
Sgt. Kruize was in the St. Cloud 372nd Engineer Battalion.
