Funeral Wednesday for toddler found dead in trunk
ST. CROIX FALLS, Wis. (AP) — A toddler whose disappearance in Polk County drew scores of volunteers to help in a search for the boy will be memorialized in a public visitation.
The body of 2-year-old Isaiah Theis was found in the trunk of a car last week on his family's property near Centuria. A preliminary autopsy shows the toddler died from hyperthermia.
A visitation Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Trollhaugen ski resort in Dresser will be open to the public. A private funeral is scheduled Wednesday morning at Alliance Church of the Valley in St. Croix Falls.
The family's pastor, Rev. Rick Van Gundy, tells the Star Tribune (http://bit.ly/1bar6MW ) that the boy likely climbed into the car trunk himself after grabbing the keys.
