MORRIS -- George Steve Kill, 87, of Morris died Monday after a brief illness.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Morris.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris with a rosary at 6:15 p.m. and a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church.
He was born April 20, 1921, at home north of Morris to William and Josephine (Majerus) Kill. He grew up and lived his entire life in the Morris and Chokio area.
He married Lauretta Eklund on Nov. 23, 1943, in Morris. They moved to their first farm south of Chokio in 1946 and then to their farm south of Morris in 1951 where he farmed grain and livestock. They moved to their retirement home close to Morris in 1985. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Assumption Catholic Church in Morris, the pork producers and cattlemen's association.
He is survived by eight children: Tony (and Karen) Kill of Newton, Mass., Jo Moderie of Apple Valley, Ted (and Barb) Kill of Hancock, Nick (and Sandy) Kill of Morris, Mary (and David) Fennell of Fergus Falls, Tim (and Sher) Kill of Waunakee, Wis., Jean (and Wayne) Lesmeister of Morris and Steve (and Lori) Kill of Morris; one son-in-law: Don Moderie of Eagan; 21 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings: Herb Kill and Betty Pollard.
He was preceded in death by his wife in May; daughter: Lorelei Moderie; son-in-law: Bill Moderie; two brothers; and three sisters.
