Gerald H. Koll Jan. 26, 1925 - April 26, 2009
FLINT, Mich. -- Gerald Herman Koll, 84, of Flint, Mich., died Sunday at Our Lady of Guadalupe parish rectory. He suffered for several years from leukemia.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church with a 7 p.m. prayer service and for one hour prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are with Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.
He was born Jan. 26, 1925, in Springfield to August and Lorretta (Laubach) Koll. He served in the Asian Theater during World War II and received the Bronze Star and Liberty Victory Medal.
He married Eunice B. Carlson. Following her death he served as Brother Boniface with the Alma Redemptorist Mater.
He is survived by his children: Gerald Koll of Lincoln, Calif., Reginald Koll of Ft. Collins, Colo., Christine Tetrick of Redwood Falls, Douglas Koll of Sleepy Eye, Cynthia Linsmeier of Willmar and Patricia Goche of Marshall; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; siblings: Anthony Koll, Richard Koll and Magorie Shmitz.
He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
