Gibbon man killed in two-car crash in Renville County

RENVILLE -- Raymond Myron Nelson, 55, of Gibbon was killed Saturday in a two-vehicle crash near Renville that also injured three others.

Nelson was a passenger in a vehicle that collided with a second vehicle at about 4:10 p.m. at the intersection of county roads 6 and 17, four miles south of Renville.

According to the Renville County Sheriff's Department, Donna Bahr, 62, of Granite Falls, Loraine Nelson, 56, of Gibbon and Ruth Satchell, 53 of Burnsville were injured.

Bahr and Satchell were identified as the drivers of the vehicles.

The Nelsons were passengers in the Satchell vehicle.

Raymond Nelson was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff's office.

Satchell was taken to Renville County Hospital in Olivia and then transferred to a hospital in Waconia.

Loraine Nelson was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, where she was listed in serious condition Monday.

Information about Bahr was not available at press time. The crash is under investigation. The Minnesota State Patrol and Renville Police Department also assisted at the scene.
