Girl fighting to survive following raft accident
ELK RIVER, Minn. (AP) -- Police say a 7-year-old girl is fighting for her life at a Robbinsdale hospital after falling off a raft on Lake Orono during the weekend.
Elk River Police Chief Jeff Beahen says Emily Lewandowski was on a raft in the lake with two other children Saturday when she slipped off. Her father ran into the water to rescue his daughter, who doesn't know how to swim. He found her, brought her to shore and began CPR.
KARE-TV says the girl was taken to Mercy Hospital, then transferred to North Memorial.
