Girls Basketball: ACGC tips Morris/CA for 11th straight win

GROVE CITY -- Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City moved one game closer to finishing its West Central South Conference schedule unbeaten as the Falcons upended Morris/Cho-kio-Alberta 47-38 Friday.

ACGC won its 11th straight and improved to 15-0 in the conference.

Miranda Hopp paced the attack for the Falcons with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Mary Rentz had 13 points and Erin Schieler followed with 10 for the Tigers.

Minnewaska 59, BOLD 53

(Overtime) -- Minnewaska made up for two missed free throws with 12 seconds left in regulation by holding BOLD to one point in overtime.

The Warriors had fought back from an 11-point second-half deficit to tie the game. Brittany Nissen scored 13 of her 17 points in the second half and Carly Sigurdson tallied 12 of her 13 points.

In overtime, the Lakers' Sarah Roering scored the first basket, then Sigurdson recorded her final point with a free throw. Minnewaska then scored the last five points.

Allie Ostrander paced the Lakers with 22 points. Roering added 13 points and Sarah Faehnrich had 11.

Brittany Dahlk finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Warriors.

Brooke Tastad scored 12 points and Beka Schwendemann added 11 to lead the Thunder Hawks. Schwendemann also pulled down seven rebounds and Ashley Rodeberg dished out six assists.
