GROVE CITY -- Nikki Linn drained four 3-pointers and Benson shot just under 50 percent from the field Tuesday as the Braves moved into a tie for the lead in the West Central South Conference by upending Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 51-39.

Benson is now 6-2 in the loop, while Yellow Medicine East dropped to 5-2 with a loss to Morris/Chokio-Alberta.

Linn hit all four of the Braves' three-pointers to finish with a team-high 15 points. Brittany Holm followed with 11 points and also pocketed five steals. Holm also helped hold ACGC's leading scorer, Brittany Smith, to just six points, 10 below her season average.

Sara Lund netted a game-high 16 points and hooked 11 rebounds for ACGC (3-4, 6-9).

Kory Plumley's basket with 10 seconds remaining broke a 49-49 tie and led the Warriors (3-4, 5-9) to victory.

The Thunder Hawks (4-4, 5-9) led 22-18 at halftime and had a 26-15 advantage in free throw attempts, but made only 16.

Melissa Benson and Leah Miller paced BOLD with 15 points each.

Brook Moseng scored a game-high 21 points for Montevideo. Kara Nelson added 11 and Taylor Skoglund had eight rebounds.

Jasmine Henrich's offensive rebound and put-back, plus her free throw on the play, vaulted the Tigers into a two-point lead with under three minutes to play. Jodee Dittbenner then sank a three-pointer to put Morris/Chokio-Alberta up by five at under two minutes.

Henrich finished with 14 points followed by Brittany Nelson and Dittbenner with nine each.

Audrey Formo had 20 points and eight steals for YME. Michelle Preuss grabbed 14 rebounds and added seven points.

Melrose (5-4, 7-7) erased Paynesville's 31-26 halftime lead by holding the Bulldogs (3-7, 5-9) to 13 second-half points.

Jacque Schlangen led Paynesville with 12 points, followed by Brittni Schmitz with 11 and Brooke Schmitz with 10. Ashley Lieser grabbed 11 rebounds.

Hanna Rieland scored 21 points for Melrose.

Jenn Wendlandt and Renae Henjum scored as more points (42) combined for the Wildcats as the entire LPGE team. Wendlandt, who recorded 20 points in the first half, finished with 23 and Henjum added 19.

Wendlandt added 11 rebounds for a double-double and Henjum had seven.

The Wildcats (7-2, 13-6) also kept the Thunder (1-8, 2-14) off the free-throw line, committing only 10 fouls.
