Girls basketball: Cardinals clip Tech

WILLMAR — Kally Fosso scored 17 points to lead the Willmar girls basketball team to a 44-40 victory over St. Cloud Tech on Saturday at the Willmar High School.
The Cardinals improved to 5-3 in the Central Lakes Conference and 8-6 overall. Tech fell to 3-4 in the CLC and 7-7 overall.
The Cardinals trailed by one after a low-scoring first half but ramped up their offense emough in the second to hold off the Tigers.
Willmar’s Courtney Magnuson scored 9 points and Heather Horning had 6 points and a team-high 9 rebounds. Fosso had 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
