The Streeters (10-0) took 23 shots from outside the arc and made 11, a robust 48 percent average.

Six different shooters hit at least one bucket playing long ball. Jena Klaphake, a 5-foot-7 senior guard struck for four and Macy Weller and Ali Peterson two each.

Down 33-22 at half, the Cardinals (6-6) spurted out of the locker room to close to within 7 points but Weller hit a triple on the way to a 14-point evening and the Streeters began to zip away again.

Willmar shot just 30 percent from the floor, though they did show a 41-33 edge in rebounding.

Kalley Fosso was alone in twin figures with 12 points. Anne Dunham supplied 9 points, 9 rebounds and also blocked three shots.

Willmar starts a six-game homestand on Thursday versus Alexandria in a return to Central Lakes Conference play.

Sauk Centre is riding the momentum of its state runner-up finish in the 2012 Class AA state tournament.
