The Cardinals (11-13 overall) evened their CLC record at 7-7.

Aggressive play made the difference against the winless Eagles, said Cardinals head coach Dustin Carlson.

“I thought our hustle for loose balls was really good tonight,” he said. “We pushed the ball hard tonight which led to some easy buckets. I was happy with our effort and execution tonight.”

Courtney Magnuson led Willmar with 19 points and she also had 5 rebounds and 4 steals.

Leah Ruter finished with 7 points and Jordan Martins came through with 4 points and 6 assists.

The Cardinals did lose the services of Kalley Fosso, who hit a 3-pointer before leaving the game with a leg injury early in the first half.

“We will wait to see how that turns out,” Carlson said.

Willmar wraps up the regular season with two more Central Lakes Conference home games this week, Thursday against Sauk Rapids and Friday against Rocori.
