Girls Basketball: CMCS hands Lakeview first loss in conference

COTTONWOOD -- Heather Blom hit one of two free throws in the last minute to lead Central Minnesota Christian to a 53-51 win over Lakeview in Camden North Conference girls basketball action Friday.

Blom iced the victory with the free throw for the Bluejays (3-12, 6-14), as Lakeview (13-1, 14-5) was handed its first conference loss of the season.

Briana Wubben posted a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds for CMCS. Greta Evink added 12 points and Lisa Ohden had seven points, five assists and five steals.

After beating Renville County West by 20 points in the first meeting on Jan. 8, MACCRAY (7-7, 9-10) had a tougher time but still managed to sweep the season series.

The Jaguars (6-9, 9-13) had the last shot to tie the game, but the 60-foot shot hit off the back of the rim at the buzzer.

The Wolverines had no one in double figures in scoring. Annie Winter led with eight points and four steals. Jenna Tebben had seven points and eight rebounds.

Kelsey Brink paced RCW with 12 points and eight rebounds.
