RENVILLE -- Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg shot 74 percent from the free-throw line compared to only 61 percent for Renville County West as the Fighting Saints avenged an earlier loss by posting a 72-67 win in overtime Friday in the Camden North Conference.

RCW (4-6, 9-7), which forced overtime with two free throws from Sally Smith, had beaten KMS (5-4, 11-4) 59-50 Dec. 15 in Kerkhoven.

Esther Peterson scored 19 of her 25 points after the first half and hooked 15 rebounds to ignite KMS, which was 6-of-8 at the free-throw line in overtime.

Megan Groen had nine points at halftime before finishing with a game-high 27 points for RCW.

Nikki Swenson of Dawson-Boyd (7-2, 13-3) came two assists short of triple-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Chelsie Kurtenbach led the Blackjacks with 17 points and 10 boards. Kelly Swenson added 12 points.

Hillary Slagter scored 11 points to pace the Bluejays. Slagter and Abby Tebben grabbed seven rebounds each.

MACCRAY fell behind 10-2 to start the game, but fought back to lead 30-26 at halftime.

MACCRAY shot 50 percent. Hilary Groothuis scored 14, Danielle Goeman 12 and Tory Brouwer 11 for MACCRAY. Groothuis also had 12 rebounds and Christine Condon nine assists.

Kaylene Lundstrum led a balanced BOLD attack with 14 points and nine rebounds. Megan Novotny, Leah Miller and Kory Plumley all scored eight points and Missy Benson added six points and nine rebounds.
