Girls Basketball: Hancock captures Pheasant crown

HANCOCK -- Behind Bree Holleman's game-high 33 points, Hancock clinched another Pheasant Conference girls basketball title by upending Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley 77-47 Tuesday.

Holleman had five 3-pointers and also piled up 12 rebounds and seven assists as the Owls remained unbeaten in the conference at 5-0 and improved to 14-1 overall.

Illissa Koehl added 14 points and Hannah Newhouse netted 10 more to help Hancock shoot just over 50 percent from the field.

Brianna Jacobson had a double-double for the Wildcats with 11 points and 10 rebounds, Cassie Ziemer led the Wildcats in scoring with 14 points, including four 3-pointers. Karli Wendlandt added 12 points. Justine Dammermann hit three 3-pointers for nine points.
