Girls Basketball: Hancock sinks FTs, Benson

HANCOCK -- Hancock missed only two free throws the entire night and held off Benson 71-69 in a non-conference girls basketball clash Monday.

The Owls (16-3) sank 16-of-18 shots from the charity stripe, which included Bree Holleman's 11-for-11 performance.

Lauren Nelson broke a late tie with a three-pointer, then Holleman sank four straight free throws to secure the win. She finished with 32 points.

Illissa Koehl followed with 10 points.

Emily Auch paced Benson (15-6) with 23 points, Abby Fragodt added 12 points and nine rebounds, and Kayla Hampton chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds.
